Broken Garage Door Spring
Garage door spring breakage occurs when one or more of the coils snap. Breakage is confirmed after visual inspection. This issue can manifest itself in various different ways, however. Usually, in case the spring breaks, the door will stop working completely. In case there is a garage door opener installed, it may shut itself off automatically as a protection measure. Sometimes, the breaking of this part produces a fairly loud bang. After this, the door will cease functioning. It is also possible for both the door and the opener to continue working after the breaking of the part. However, the door will move more slowly while the device will operate with strain.
The broken spring must be replaced with a new one which has the same specifications. This is the only type of repair which will solve the problem effectively. After the replacement, the new spring must be adjusted to enable the proper movement of the door.
